Benefit of Doubt
Maybe, speaking out failed so I chose silence
Maybe, peace didn't seem to be an option so I chose violence
Maybe I don't sleep because all I hear is sirens
Maybe I'm careful with because I have been without
Maybe you hate me because you don't know what I'm about
Maybe they lied and you believed that because it was that good
Maybe what you think is rude is just tough love
Maybe she is trash, maybe she is the best girl you'd ever have
Maybe she is a mess just needs some quick fix
Maybe you better off judged by twelve than carried by six
Maybe instead of crying over spilt milk, you should pick the glass and walk away
Maybe he parties day and night to skip the nightmares
Maybe she is shy because she was once bitten
Maybe life just revealed what was once hidden
Maybe they've been hustled by men of cloth so they live like heathens
Maybe he smiles to hide the pain
Maybe he cries walking in the rain
Maybe he's happy for real, you wouldn't know how that feels
Maybe it all don't make sense because its stupid
Or maybe it sounds stupid because you just 2 bit
Maybe he's not crazy he's just woke
Maybe he's not stingy he's just broke
Maybe his ass is guilty as
Maybe just maybe he didn't do it. !!
Maybe its going too fast, slow down maybe get to know each other better
The broken pieces, maybe they can't be fixed
Yeah maybe they can
Maybe I'm not black just been in dark places
Maybe you sad because you just too kind
Put your heart on ice from off your sleeve maybe
Or maybe just be you, because you is all you can be
I'm just saying judging might seem easy
But if only you could see the build up
