Beneath the Night Sky
Such immensity
blazed in full arch overhead,
sucks breath and seems
to draw you upward
as if gravity
was lensed in its light,
and there, lying beneath
and looking up,
you clutch the ground
to anchor yourself
to earth
fearing if you were
to let go, somehow
you would float away
though your mind knows
this is not so.
