Beneath Still Water
Beneath still water
Silently she lays
The breath taken from her
Still water's now her grave
I knew I couldn't keep her
From wandering away
So I drowned her in the river
And there is where she'll stay
I couldn't live without her
I wouldn't set her free
So I left her in the river
Forevermore to sleep
And as I cross the river
When it's my time to go
Lay me beneath still water
With my darling deep below
