Beneath Evening Wings

When twilight fades into the night and darkness steals the dying light, grant me the peace I humbly seek, wield thy power so I won't break. As silence whispers through the trees, 'neath evening wings reveal thy face; praying for grace this weary soul, oh, pick me up each time I fall. Make me accept what I can't change and change the things that I still can, show me the way and set me free that I may face eternity. While the stars shining at midnight point the way to a morning bright, in deep repose watch over me and wake me up to a new day.

Nice use of rhyme for a good flow. Peace--now that's something most of us seek. I like the ending. Keep up the good writing. Karen

Beautiful, this can also be a soothing lullabye to sing to a child drifting off to sleep. Well done. Regards Heidie

You are indeed an amazing poet. This is so beautifully written, and deeply felt. I would love to hear this to music. (Not in the restroom) Hee hee. Sorry Fred. All kidding aside, this is an outstanding and beautiful write. And I agree it reads like a prayer. Love, Shar
