Beneath a Glittering Star

If tomorrow never comes
may love at least confess its deeds
beneath a glittering star welcomed by night's deep exaltations
which offers a bond under Heaven's eternal sky
pledged and pressed into pulsating heartbeats from each kiss

Enslaved and tethered to this star of lovers
so we may fill our soul with soft throbbing tremors
of timeless tenderness, causing eyelids to close
in search of love's infinite realm of misty lush language
which stirs vibrant tongues into fervent flames
of fantasy fulfilled by glorious desires of beautiful boundaries

we crossed beneath this star's moment of breathlessness
when its bright flames crossed the dark sky
like a burning match, until it was gone
leaving our names etched on its fading tail
as a silent presence of perpetual purity
of our love confessed

Dear Frederic, I'm enraptured by the lush romance spilling so gracefully, so beautifully in potent poetry from your luscious pen. Each line is in a love affair with the other, lines entwined like lovers stirring "vibrant tongues into fervent flames".. Passionate imagery rouses my heart and imagination: "Enslaved and tethered to this star of lovers" - sets a most sensual scene for steamy stargazing. Congratulations for your excellent win in Silent One's contest, dear poet, dear friend.. ~Susan

Amazing, Frederic. A stunning, resounding, romantic write. Dazzling form, I love the fading tail expression. Struck by your ability to flow with such beauty. Congratulations, a solidly deserved Win
