Bendigo I go
2025.05.04
Sunday, a beautiful day on the weekend,
The weather could not be any better,
The sun shined high in the sky,
The gentle breeze kept on swaying in the air.
I headed to Bendigo, where it situated
In the middle of Victoria state.
I came here quite number of time.
I settled down at Weeroona lake.
I managed walking in the park,
Circulated the entire curving lake,
In a matter of half an hour.
I sat down on the timber benches,
Completed writing my poem.
I continued on my journey,
Travelled all the way to Huntly.
On the way back, I paid a visit
At the Bendigo Botanic garden,
It was small, planted common flowers,
There was a lake but it was quite empty,
It waited for the rain water,
To bring back what once it was.
I crossed the street, headed to
The Garden for the Future.
At first I misunderstood the name,
Thought it meant it was still in the progress,
Well what did you think,
As soon I entered the gate,
I encountered two different areas,
The garden of the future and the Heritage garden.
I turned left and aimed for the future.
It was almost completed,
The curvy shaped lawn in the middle of,
Backing by two winding manicured semi circle hedges,
Enclosed and protected the plants species.
Mostly dry, hardy, cactus and desert like.
I headed back looking forward to the Heritage area,
Well, what did one think one would find?
Nothing interesting as it was deserted.
Did the local authorities,
Looking forwards to the future,
And not worth keeping the history or heritage.
On the way back to the Bendigo train station,
I admired those old architural buildings.
I shall never feel bore looking at these buildings.
My next trip to Bendigo,
I will visit the Sacred Heart Cathedral.
