Bells
The ringing of a bell heralds many things
and each knell has another meaning
marriage, death, freedom
war, peace, class is starting!
they hang on the necks of animals
especially cats and cows
they call people to dinner
and ring from church towers
as well as temples
bells signify scholars at oxford
liberty in philadelphia
time in london according to ben
christmas bells ring to the tune of
transubstantiation
along with the people who stand in front
of the grocery store
doves fly around with ribbons
to the peal of bells
but the sweetest ring
is the chime of the baby's laughter
when she jingles
