Believer

I used to think that love was not real
Just a shadow, a game, a fleeting ideal
I thought it was a trick
a chemical lie
A fleeting transaction
just passing by

the world rewrote
Every doubt... every fear... every bitter note.
For all you lonely souls, I cannot promise fate

But if love finds you, it’s worth the wait

Love isn’t logic; it’s wild, it’s free
It doesn’t wear a mask... it doesn’t check the score
It’s the fire in your soul... the light at your core

Love is chaos; love is harmony
It breaks the rules... it defies the plans
It’s the world reborn when it takes your hand

They say success is six figures, six feet tall
Six of this, six of that—but love ignores it all
It doesn’t play by rules, it doesn’t care for pride

I almost turned love into a lifeless tool

Susan Manley March 29, 2025 at 8:46 PM My boyfriend wrote the lyrics and I just fine tuned it for the genre we published in. But that is written to me. Amazing right? And you are deep, smart, funny, charming. Whats not to love? Seriously? Half the women reading your poetry fancy that about you.
