Being Type A
So many things that we want to get perfect.
But it does not happen.
Some deal with this all right.
The professional chameleons do.
The Type A’s are not as lucky.
Wanting to control things.
Losing it when things do not go their way.
Some do not understand
When things do not go their way they do go another’s way.
When one team wins, the other team loses.
Type A’s do not handle this well.
Sometimes we know immediately.
Other times we wait until they have a nervous breakdown
To figure it out.
I am a chameleon and type A.
Depending upon the situation.
Not knowing which way I am leaning
Until my body or my soul gives me hints.
Today at this second I am a chameleon
But when someone makes a mistake that irritates me
I rapidly escalate into out-of-control Type A.
Which is why I isolate myself
Barricade my feelings and try to ignore
The savage once-upon-a-time irritants.
Easy to do some days.
Other days I am in danger of exposing my true colors.
Which could get me fired, or worse.
