Being Set Free

I should not have been surprised
I have seen it before
the isolation,
making yourself a priority
then the withdrawal
the disinterest
I am not holding a grudge
I am just hopeful
that one day,
you will realize, the self destructing path you’re on..

No talking behind your back
I’m better than that,
I wish you well,
with a thank you from me
for setting me free…

ah, so this is the poem that you were talking about ;) what I really like about your poems though is that they always show strength of character, despite adversities--very inspiring :) is it still raining there? --nikko :)

Amazingly addiction wasn't what I was thinking when I wrote this piece.. Just shows how many connotations can be attached to it :)

hopefully they do realize the destruction they've caused you.. and dwell on it as they have forced you to, glad you got away from that...p.d.

when dealing with an addict, the lesson to learn is to set yourself free from them: then they have a chance to recover. well done.
