Being Just Like Them
In any impasse,
both parties are always at fault.
In the case of a divorce,
parents who can't admit,
they are both responsible,
pass the negative tapes generated by their words,
onto the defenseless and innocent memories of their children,
who then must carry the burden of fear,
until their hearts heal.
If only they could apologize,
and forgive,
each in their own way,
they could love again,
children now seeing them,
when they look in the mirror,
wondering why they have become,
just like them.
