Being Birthed In Christ

God was speaking truly to me but I refused to heed His cry Then disaster struck me one awful night my wife Jean of 10 months wed did die In the hospital, my anchor was removed my life partner lost her very life My little world came tumbling down I felt stabbed like with a knife At my bedside, I really prayed Lord come in, I give myself to you For the Lord showed He was love willing to save me and create me anew Jesus my saviour and redeemer took my sin with Him on Calvary's cross Over the next weeks and months His word became life to travel across To His destination within my soul made me to truly learn how to pray Now I had been birthed in Christ to look forward to my eternal day (This piece tells of the night I got saved by the Lord Jesus Christ when my dear first wife Jean died in October 1982 after only 10 months of marriage bliss, when I returned home from the hospital and received Jesus to be my Lord and Saviour and so being birthed in Christ.)

Gordon, I can truthfully identify with this. I lost my wife of 20 years after she spent two weeks in a comatized state. I spent every day of those two weeks watching her life ebb away but because of my relationship with Christ, I felt the greatest amount of peace I have ever felt and none like it since then. I introduced people, who had family members not expected to live, to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ so they could find that same peace. God granted it to many of them. Praise Him!

A touching story. Many would have been bitter after such a loss. Thankful you chose to trust the source of all blessings.
