Being

Being by Roger Blakiston There is a stillness in the wind, A calm within the storm, A peace before the battle cry, A soul before the form. There is a hope beneath the pain, A smile between a tear. There is a light when all seems dark; A love beneath the fear. There is a silence deep inside, When noise is all around; A sadness that will turn to joy. As lost becomes the found. There is a jewel behind the clouds, As rainbows light the sky. There is a hand that gives us strength, When we prepare to die. There is a breeze that steers the ships Across the seven seas. There is a force in nature that Creates the woods and trees. There is a seed before the flower, An egg before a bird. Above the thorns there is the rose; A sound before a word. There is a life before a birth, A boy before a man. There is a source to everything; Somewhere it all began. So, as we go about our tasks, With lessons learned each day; When moments come and we do feel That we have lost our way. Let spirit be our only guide, For wishes will come true, As in this wondrous universe, We tread each morning dew. The past is gone, cannot be changed; Great miracles we’re seeing. While staying aware of all that is. Let us embrace just being.
