Behind Their Masks

"Behind Their Masks"
© 2005 Michelle Lynn LeBlanc

Some people are just so broken,
As they hide Behind Their Masks
Hardened by things they don’t understand
Angered by what happened in their past

Trying so hard for so many years
They gave up pushing to make it through
Pressing down the fears they had
Now the pain is being hid away from you

They try to hide behind surface relationships
Afraid to be honest about how they feel
Crying out, while keeping silent
Can anyone help their hearts to heal?

Looking like they have it altogether
Acting like they’re as strong as they can be
Can anyone read their silent message?
They need help beyond their own ability
