Behind My Eyes

gateways to the soul 
shine so bright

blue as an ocean
and gray as the night

shining like stars 
wrapping around me
 
like a blanket
like your arms

together we'll be
together forever you say

but you leave 
leaving me wounded

wounded 
broken 
hurt

behind solid glass I hide
behind my eyes are my emotions 

emotions that are bottled 
and sealed

behind my eyes 
where they always will lie

behind me eyes
always sealed
nothing revealed

behind my eyes
you'll never see
what i am keeping

secrets locked away 
behind my eyes 

they are hidden
to this day

you'll never see what lies 
behind my broken windows
behind my eyes
