Behind Bright Eyes

Behind bright eyes...
A life lives blind;
The pain of man...
Not far behind.
Looking into the mirror...
At the fast fading disguise;
Falling to my knees,
And the demons rise...

No control of the change...
In the heart of least resistance;
No such trust in myself...
An oddity within existence.
You think you see the truth,
But is that the real me?
Caught in this distorted dream,
Hidden behind what they see...

Encaged on the inside,
Trapped within this charade...
Disagreements with society,
Just fools on parade.
The sun slowly rises,
Awakening to the screams...
All of the blurred memories,
Living nightmares from dreams.
