Begin
pull a thought
a single thread
what does it become
what do the words form
a simple poem
laid out straight and flat
or something deep
a puddle with no bottom
a web with a thousand tangles
a broken heart lays bare
a barefoot goddess speaks to the young
who will read them
learn the words on the page
do you mind my nonsense
do you mind the broken words
fragments of a whole
please notice and see
I just want to know
does it ever matter
