Befriending the Beast
Jabberwock, oh jabberwock, how misunderstood you are
Fierce men come by to steal your head, but only leave a scar.
you yearn not for blood, but love I think,
a scratch beneath your chin.
But when men arrive with swords
you fight them on a whim.
Ignorant they are, dear wocky, scaly beast,
can't blame you now, my jabby friend, for making them your feast.
