Before You
You've opened me
before you I was
so defensive of
my true self
like a tightly clenched
hand closed protectively
over its vulnerable
palm
But you've gently lifted
each finger away
from that hand
and begun to trace the
lines inside
reading my heart
effortlessly
and touching my soul
forever
