Before You

In my lifetime I have loved many
Not necessarily men
or women
or anything
But everything

I have loved:
neighbors
friends
movie stars
movie shows
pets
parents
marilyn monroe
and E.T.
Old women in grocery stores
Old men in parks

My love is open to suggestion...
It's open to anyone

But I have not known love
I have not known the ache of absense
The longing for a touch
The butterflies
and sleepness nights
I have never touched love with my hands
or felt it melt against my lips
I have never cradled love between arms and legs
I never knew love was heaven
I never dreamed heaven would be so hot against my flesh

How could I have survived time
before now
before love
BEFORE YOU

My experinence is reversed. I still remember my first, real love (puppy love for me) at 16. I have never felt the same since then...Beautiful poem, Celeste.
