Before we die
Before we die,
someone must gather the apologies we left unsaid,
sleeping in cups of cold tea and letters never sent.
Mom, I owe you a dawn untouched by hospitals.
Brother, the laughter we buried in the garden of our childhood.
To the stranger reading my poems — I owe the courage to say, "I remember you".
Before we vanish, let us offer a wing, not fleeting coins,
and let the stars forgive the dreams we never dared speak.
Before we die, let us shelter each other from the dark,
so this universe may know - we tried to remain human.
