Before and After

BEFORE   AND   AFTER


For long years then
My days were lifeless
Dark and dry then 
Like a boat adrift 
In the doldrums then



Now I feel like a sail, 
That was  in the attic 
And now is taken to the sea 
Where real ocean winds 
Now are blowing into it.

Hi Sydney Loved this,Wonderful imagery all of it.Your poem is short and sweet but has such a nice feel to it.Admittedly at first a little dark but it carries you along to a beautiful uplifting end.To be able to convey so much in so few words I think is very skilfull especially your repeating of the words 'then' and 'now' to give added emphasis to changes.So clever and so nice. luv June(sylvia)
