And solitary bees are normally in danger of silly humans swiping them dead! You taught me something here Paul, did not know this, I know now that they only collect pollen to provision their nests. Very clever and insightful as usual. Good luck in the contest my dear friend. Warm regards, Jenny.

Poor little bees. Well expressed Paul, this is also true for us worker bees. The ones at the top enjoy the honey and convince us that we are the Benefactors of our labour.

So true, Richard...except that solitary bees are cleverer than us, and refuse to take part in producing honey! ~ Regards // paul

I like how you made this one about a solitary bee. Seems metaphorical

Thank you, Andrea. I was determined not to fall in the trap of presenting beautiful imagery; yes, it could be metaphorical as well...I leave it to the reader to elicit whatever s/he can out of it. Regards // paul

Wow! You are so clever in the haiku form, Paul. And it's kind of sad that those who produce the honey, don't get to eat it. Best wishes in Tania's contest! Love, Carolyn

Choices, choices: Freedom or honey?! (I'll take honey... Ha, ha: I'm not a solitary bee). This is exquisitely done, Paul. A winner for me (too). Best wishes, Gershon
