Bedtime

I drive through the valley
Through the silhouette of mountains
Thirsting for truth & happiness
Hoping to find that fountain

In your arms, in your smile
In your warmth, in your love
Wanting to find contentment
In all of the above

I love to fall asleep with you
With you wrapped around me
Skin on skin, your breath on my neck
A sweet silence, calm like the sea

Our hands are holding
I hear you whisper goodnight
You give me sweet memories,
A reason to write

And in our sleep
I don’t worry about my past
Under blankets, we're wrapped up tight
And I'm just hoping it will last
