written for the "a grounding technique " contest sponsored by Sara Kendrick

I see my son’s framed heartbeat, while the gold mirror reflects the walk-in wardrobe, as~ nightlights kiss white sheets… I am tied to the memories~ longing sunsets, lost…daydreaming. As wind and waves merge, I hear crickets, balmy roses, mint…

There is almost a scent of mysticism in this enthralling poem. Memories are important. You wander in poetic emotions till the final word which is fabulous. Victor

I like this picturesque vignette. The last word, mint, for some reason gave a powerful punch at the end. I question why, but it is just so appropriate.

IE, you did capture the moment in an exquisite way! We do think about our own family often and miss them when they go out on their own or if something happens to them which we cannot control. The is a mild sadness in all of this, but we cannot escape sadness in life. It's part of all experience. Really a lovely poem. Smiles!

One word I need to describe this poem, it would be ETHEREAL! You've really mastered this grounding technique, dear ink empress, and the way you've taken my soul in your world, making me feel so many scenes, aromas and flavours whilst delving into a harmony of sounds ~ so impeccably, ahhhh, I marvel at your poetic excellence... how beautifully you've described that opening stanza with "son's framed heartbeat' gosh, that really makes me emotional and then... swaying away with memories wowww... " As wind and waves merge" Now this is what I call "music" to my ears!!! I would loveeeee to witness such a magical scene one day. And those balmy roses and wind... I'm swooning over your imagery, honestly. This is going straight into my FAVES... Keep shining and writing, sweet fairy goddess, I enjoyed reading this one so much... sending love and light to you always ~ hugsssss
