Bed
I'm close to the edge
So far to this side
I feel less alone
In this place where I hide
The middle is there
Close to that side-
Was warm once before
Where we once did collide.
Enraptured in passion
Then surrounded with calm
Just us in our space
So safe from all harm.
No beginning No ending
Just complete, just one.
Soft whispers "I love you"
Held close as day's done.
Pain from the quiet
Can't believe it's so loud
Alone in the silence
My heart the lone sound.
This side is much safer
No memory or scent
No sounds to remind me
How it was, how it went.
That side is the space once
I kept just for you.
Now I reach, wish to find you,
It's all I can do.
I stay from that side now
From the empty and cold.
Nothing to warm me
Nothing left there to hold.
