Becoming New

when i've had enough, i close my eyes
for a moment and imagine divine and benevolent hands
around me firm but gentle. if i keep my eyes closed,
i let myself sink into the dark bands of colors
under my eyelids. it's as if i have become a part
of an orb of peace.

Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata is faintly on my mind.
the rhythm of my breathing flows with the music.
i open my eyes and actually play some classical music,
with a gentle tempo, on my CD player.
i leave it in repeat mode.

having a seat, i reach for my hand held meteor shower wand
and watch the colors change and fluctuate
until my thoughts and body are at tranquility.
