Because of Who I Am

Drastically insignificant is how I feel
Not liked because of who I am
Not for being mean or nasty
But because this is who I am
I always press my luck and let a person get to know me for who I am
I must be undesirable for so many acquaintances to go cold and dry
But my dog loves me and I love him
Numbness has overcome me however I choose to write
I choose to keep a stable mind and not fold under pressure
You are my people!
We are each other!
Yet I am of no significance to you
I do sincerely care for you
A world free of friction and filled with generosity is what I dream of
Not trying to fuss –
Just venting

I've been through this before, if maybe slightly different. I was always the rock for people, the one with the shoulder and the strength. But that was never returned, and because of that, it's so ingrained in me to hide my hurt. Even if I'm alone at night, i still put my face in a blanket and try to be quiet. Stay strong, love, and know that If people don't like you for you, that's their problem, their loss. You're writing is beautiful, and it shows your personality, which seems cool to me. :D

i agree with andrea she is a great friend to me. but i must say your words touched me. because sometimes i an insignificant also. or faded into the back ground. but i have my places where i have shined so brightly that i am the brightest star. and this site is one of them. you better ask somebody!!! but i like what you wrote and the way you wrote it. and don't let this be the only place you shine. i shine out here where i live. with my other skills, singing among other things. but God will in tm

Hi, Brittany. I think you are a good writer and I think we all feel a little bit alienated from people from time to time. I hope you don't feel this way often. I want to see more of you here!! (and yes, it's impossible to have great significance to people when none of us have ever met each other face to face, but it's nice to forge strong friendships here. Some of my best friends now are from internet poetry!)

Brittany; This is sad. We all have felt like that at one time or another. Don't let nothing get you down. You are special, because you are here and because God made you. Smile Jesus loves you. Lucilla
