Because I'M a Poet
She thinks because I'm a poet I'll be romantic and sweet
She thinks because I'm a poet I'll have the words to sweep her off her feet
She thinks because I'm a poet I'll be full of love and hope
I guess that means she hasn't understood a single word I've wrote
I've never been shy,when writing about the way I'm feeling
But the fact I'm still writing about it, shows I'm still healing
Because i'm a poet she expects roses and a new poem every day
She doesn't understand, i'm not painting pictures to put on a display
Because I'm a poet she thinks I'll be a cross between Ed Sheeran and Drake
My heart is fractured, so i'm constantly fearing the break
One more wrong touch, and it'll be broke for good
She doesn't seem to understand that I write with my tears and blood
Because i'm a poet, she thinks i'm going to be so romantic
She thinks I'll write the poetical version of Titanic
She doesn't understand that I come here when I'm at my lowest
How can I tell her, I'm not that great of a poet
She thinks because I'm a poet I'll be romantic and sweet
She thinks because I'm a poet I'll have the words to sweep her off her feet
She thinks I'll always be there when she says "I need you to hug me"
She doesn't understand, most my poems are honest and telling people to not love me
