Because I met you at the perfect time 03-05-26

True friends are hard to find
and yet here you are,
woven into my life.
We've laughed till the world blurred,
we've stumbled, struggled and endured
but through it all we've marched,
shoulder to shoulder, side by side.

It's a quiet kind of bittersweet,
knowing we'll never sit in the same class again,
never catch the teacher's puzzled glance
in our sudden outbursts of laughter,
but I hope some day
we'll all be sat together
and nothing will have changed.

I like to think that if we met
in some time-twisted, altered reality,
that it would still be you and me,
walking on the grass in the midday sun
as if time had no claim on us.
It's not "goodbye"-
it's "until next time",
so let these memories be treasured in our hearts
forevermore.
