Because I Loved You
Love by itself was not enough to make me yours when it lacked everything that made it worth fighting for
I was breaking my bones carrying the weight of our love alone
But I guess I didn’t carry enough
I begged for you more times than I can count because I believed it was you I couldn’t live without
But you seemed to do just fine
While I was breaking down losing something that was never really mine
And I think you tried to love me the way that I loved you
But I loved you for who you were and you loved me simply because I loved you
As much as I hate it, it’s true
And sometimes I’m still sad and sometimes I don’t understand
But I’ll always know I deserve a better man
