Because I Am a Girl

Because I am a girl, I'm dissuaded from learning about science, dismissed, ridiculed, shot down. Because I am a girl, my mother had to teach me how to wield my keys as a weapon in a world of men she doesn't trust. Because I am a girl, I will have opportunities denied me. I will be scorned when I speak up in conversation. I will be thought of as less, and why? Because I am a girl.

It must be so hard to live among people who dismiss and ridicule you... Press on, and soon you will be rewarded for the good person you are when they realize your value in this world. Best wishes, Keith

Very succinctly put and it saddens me that these attitudes still exist. You can tell when something comes straight from the heart. The attitudes you identify are abuse of power to negate competition, don't be daunted fight them every step of the way. Kind regards, Ian
