Beauty Fell Upon Me

Beauty fell upon me as the snow upon the trees,
Then carried me to distant dream, of autumn's gentle breeze.

Dude--I mean babe. Don't even. Get out while you still have some dignity. Don't play on my field! No, must be a good sport and say, good luck! Xo ;-)

Thank you Ana. It's short alright, but that's the contest rule. Might add to it one day, however. Glad you liked this, and I appreciate the kind words. Hugs Mel :)

Thank you, so much. I'm ashamed to admit this, but I read the contest criteria, and wrote the couplet in about one minute--or less. Just came to me. Go figure. Love your writes. Hugs, Mel :)

Great imagery here in these two lines. As a male, I'm sure you and I can relate to possibly bringing our lovely ladies to this remote area for a romantic walk!

Jan, how are you? This was an afterthought. I wanted people to read the love poem, but that's not my call. Thanks, though. Love your stuff, btw. Peace and blessings, Mel :)

Hi Mel. You say a lot about beauty in these two simple, well-written lines. How it overwhelms us as it crawls through our awareness impacting our entire mind in a most pleasing way. It is so important to our lives, and yet it is undefinable. Except through allegory such as your wonderful poem here. Peace...Sam

Thanks Sam--a family name, as I mentioned--my Uncle's and Grandfather's names. I very much appreciate the thoughtful and insightful comment. You're a great poet, so I am encouraged by your words. Thanks again, Mel
