Beauty

Beauty…

Peace…

Release…

What is it that my soul doth seek,
As I climb that crag or lofty peak?

The jagged skyline sends a thrill,
Inherent danger to test my will
The rise and fall of each new face,
Affecting my nerve, my pulse to race
The texture changes with the light,
Every second a new delight

So as the day comes to an end,
And homeward bound I start to wend
My emotions charged, I feel renewed,
But it is not long ‘til I feel subdued

The call of the wild ringing loud in my mind,
I must return, but I hope I’ll not find
Any answers to my quest that risk,
The need to go back and get my fix

… And as in my mind I picture your frame,
The emotions I feel are just the same
Your sensual outline sends a thrill;
Inherent danger excites me still
The rise and fall of every curve,
Affect my brain and every nerve
Skin texture changing with the light,
Aching to touch you and hold you so tight

Our time together is all too short;
You’re in my heart and every thought
My emotions high from being with you;
All that you are and all that you do

Your scent and allure still fresh in my mind,
I must return, and I know what I’ll find
A beautiful person, sensitive, kind;
A beautiful body; a beautiful mind

This is such a refreshing poem. I can see the imagery of and feel the essence of beauty in this wonderful poem. It flows as softly as the wind on the cheeks of lovers. Great job and welcome to Poetry Soup! ~Joseph
