Beautiful Sadness

"Walking alone is not difficult, but when we have walked a mile worth a thousand years with someone, then coming back alone is what is difficult." Faraaz Kazi She left home full of bright promises and gifts Building dreams out of twinkling stars and rainbows But sadness over took her, waking to grey clouds of mists She lost her way, stumbling blindly full of woes Then you caught her in her spiral as she hit the ground Scraped knees and bruised mind careening Your kisses healed her broken spirit, lifted her around Your love weaved golden threads, gleaming A path together woven against her tortured tears Years stretch a tapestry of tempest against gentle heart But the mist returned in dark swirls to claim her fears Now alone he walks through broken dreams, apart love bridges darkness a lovers light melts the night now love walks alone written 7-16-2019 Writing Challenge 2 July 2019--Melancholy Poem Contest 3rd place Sponsor: Dear Heart

Very well penned, Jeanne. I like the way you nixed the happy ending, but in a melancholy, not a mean, way. Great entry for the contest, methinks. Best wishes, Gershon

The perfect name for this poem which is sure to capture Constance's interest. She is all about romantic, dreamy story-poems with love and imagery. Well done indeed! Good luck in the contest, Jeanne.

Isn't it amazing what can come out of a pen when the mind is let loose? I thought I was going in a different direction and then this! I'm happy to know she may like it too. Thanks.
