Black opal is the rarest and most valuable opal for distinctive vibrant “play-of-color”, as the dark body tone of the stone enhances the beautiful and brilliant colors of blues, greens, yellows, oranges and fiery reds. It is an exceptional opal that can rival or surpass diamonds. Blue paraiba tourmaline is rare and valued for unique, electric color, renowned for vivid, vibrant neon blue green to turquoise hues. It is the most rarest of tourmalines for incandescent glow that appears to light up the stone and is sought by gem collectors.

Opal is my birthstone and I do have white opal. I have several necklaces, a ring and a bracelet. Once I saw the black opal and the amazing colors, Wow! I fell in love with the Paraiba, so I treated myself, a necklace and ring. I bought loose stones to have a jeweler make earrings for me, but didn't get around to having it done. Exquisite gemstone.
