Beautiful Liar

The beautiful liar so slick and so swift
Enters the mind and makes the walls shift
Planting seeds of hope into desert sands
Knowing full well they won't grow in dead land

Whispered lies of passion and love now bleed truth
The knife stabbed in my heart becomes all my proof
Your lies they consumed me and devoured my soul
But now they bleed out and I regain full control

Games played with words from a boy immature
Playing along, I was completely sure... I was sure
Enjoying the moments sporadically given
Time after time he was always forgiven

His tongue lined with lies fed me pure satisfaction
From sense, the excuses did work for distraction
Use me and drop me then use me again
I'm sorry, I love you, it was all just pretend

Beautiful Liar
