Beautiful
An island of calm in the midst of a storm of sound;
As composed and regal as a king nobly crowned;
Ebony curls framing a face of beauty that appears ageless and icy cool;
Standing next to you the most handsome man would look a pretty fool;
You smile gently and it seeps into your eyes as if they were two bronze bowls;
The loveliness glinting in those depths revives even my starving hungry soul;
People gaze at you as if they were hypnotized and cannot look away;
They study your lips intently for every precious word that you might say;

Yours is a spirit that can endure whilst the whole world falters and crumbles;
Your essence is as bright as a sunlit afternoon in a beaming golden day;
And the light you leak into my shadowed life brings more joy than I can say;
And even though your thoughts may turn to me only now and then;
I sleep contented in the knowledge that I will see your face again…
