Be Ye Ready

Some are squandering their days looking forward,
And for the present, they’re giving little thought.
Thoughts lingering on the ugliness of their past,
And the heartache that those actions have brought;
You can’t alter matters concealed in bygone days,
And God alone discerns each one’s days upcoming.
So it behooves us to live daily as were it to be our last,
Trouble not of tomorrow or whether it’s coming;
