Be Who You Are
On this inherently changing Earth,
there live flocks of sheep
some of whose eyes never meet a mirror
but only on others do they peep
Some of them may have a knack of picking on you
Barring the ones who want the lamb in you to grow
sadly, such are in numbers, very few
Growing from a lamb to a human is under much scrutiny,
"After all, the lamb should become just another sheep' is what they say unitedly
Thus, caging the young free-flowing minds brutally
Most of the young ones dwell in fears of judgement
and are told to kill their unique ambitions in names of 'adjustment'
Doing something off track gives way to an explosion of opinions
That's when our faith in goodness and ourselves becomes our closest companion
What most don't understand is the peace hidden in listening to ourselves
we may make many-a mistakes
but that's how self-doubt and underconfidence is dispelled
Remember, life is meant to be lived to the fullest
and not in the most 'perfect' way
what counts is how determined and righteous we have been
and how steadfast and courageous we have stayed
Following your view doesn't mean to revolt out of your way
and keeping all other perspectives at bay
But sometimes, it is better to be a human rather than another sheep
after all, humans are meant to be all different and unique
Follow what you truly believe in
but be open to constructive suggestions
give your dreams and intuition priority
and embrace your uniqueness not with resent but compassion
