Be of Good Courage

“Be of good courage.*”  Such declares God’s sovereignty
Along His leadership as the supreme Almighty Deity---
Bowing to Him with humility
Submitting myself to His authority
Keeps me strengthened against my own debility.

“Be of good courage.”  Such affirms God’s greatness
Along His omnipotence while manifesting gentleness---
Shining through His goodness
Consecrating myself to His graciousness
Frees me from arrogance of destructive vanity.

“Be of good courage.”  Such reverberates God’s warning
Along His rebuke against unbelief, doubting, and complaining---
Repenting with sincerity’s well-meaning
Yielding myself to His reigning
Helps me win against selfishness so draining.

“Be of good courage.”  Such speaks of God’s demand
Along His precept attesting promises so grand---
Meditating His Word whereupon I stand
Dedicating myself to follow His command
Guards me from  entanglement of worldliness' pleasure-wand.  

“Be of good courage.”  Such asserts God’s compassion
Along His mercy upon me in my affliction---
Abiding in His will midst challenging situation 
Laying myself to His perfect and wise action
Upholds me against oppressive dysfunction.
 
“Be of good courage.”  Such announces God’s requirement
Along His statute for me to show my joyous fulfillment---
Complying to His faith-building agreement
Committing myself to His service-empowerment
Fortifies me toward faithful reaching-out commitment.

“Be of good courage.”  Such assures God’s victory
Along His triumph in my obedience to proclaim Gospel story---
Relying on His might while praying to overcome worry
Surrendering myself to His control for His glory
Enables me to share His love, smiting fear's misery.
 
* Psalm 31:24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.
