Notes About The Poem
I believe God has created us for specific challenges
and assignments to do in this life. We therefore, should
be very serious what we ask and tell the Lord in prayer.
The Lord does take us at our word so, don't blirt out things
are willing to do/go for the Lord when He asks you. As the
poem states, just telling Him no, does not stop Him from
bringing you around the say yes, eventually.
God bless, Marilyn
Be Careful What You Pray
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU PRAY!
When you kneel down to pray to God
don’t just mutter great and swelling words thinking that this is how you only will be heard,
as our God is an honest and powerful Lord Who will as He does
takes you at your word!
Maybe you have said, “Yes, Lord I will go wherever You say
just lead me and tell me where You want me to go,
and when He says, “Child, I am calling you to go to Africa”
but soon after He hears you cry out, “Go to Africa!!” and you then say, no, no, no!
The one thing about the Lord though, just because you say no,
doesn’t mean that He will just let it drop,
no, He wants our lives in Him to prosper
for He certainly doesn’t want His work in you to flop!
So, He begins to massage and change your still neck
and your hardened heart,
by sending pictures of Africa
and dreams your way and to give His call a fresh new start.
By chance? and for sure, you will have friends who will be taking a ministry trip
and it is the same place that you were to go,
and they will come back praising the Lord for the moving of His spirit
and for all the healing and miracles He did and HOW the SPIRIT of GOD FLOWED!
You will meet African people in the stores where you shop
and you can tell He has truly softened and changed your heart,
and suddenly you began to dream of going and in the dream
you can hardly wait to get up and pack your suitcase for a start.
Dream after dream floods your sleep
again softening your heart and drives away all of your fears,
and as you begin to tell your friends where God wants to send you
your eyes begin to overflow with deep plentiful tears.
Finally, one day you cry out to Him,
“I’m sorry Father God forgive me, I pray”,
I’ve been foolish I know I can trust You
I’m ready this time I’m sincere and He says, “Get yourself ready to go today”!
