Be Brave

She forever took a lot of abuse each and every single day
For her there was a use at least to the predators in her way
Each child had a different insult or nasty remark to say
So what she'd do as a result, this little girl learned to pray

When they laughed about her shoes or pointed at her coat
She remembered the good news in that one little Bible quote
So when pushed aside or not invited like all the rest
She never even cried knowing that this was only a test

Always walking home alone never anyone to be a friend
And even as she had grown it still didn't seem to end
But she really didn't hear it as much not like it used to be
Oh the remarks still would touch but she knew that God didn't agree

She fought a battle she couldn't win as the odds weren't on her side
But she always had that slight grin and only one time had she cried
For she did have a friend really the best friend to have as all
As Jesus always helped her to mend and would never allow her to fall
