Battles We Fight

Disguises we wear come off at night as we grip our pillows tight Many times pondering upon our insignificant and trite lives.... Come morning blinded by the dawn's early light we are reminded in spite of the many rays that shine that we can fake many things but we can't hide the truths in ourselves we so desperately try to deny...

Madelin, This work is touching and so true. It tugs the tears from my eyes.. I for one hide behind a disguise every day. Great work Very different but well written, and effective. Almost like you know many of us. Awesome work. Love Linda :-)

A very well written poem! I love it Madelin! Great write, I love the beginning! I mean the whole poem as well. A totally great write all together! We face battles every day of our lives, and depending on who we win or lose those define who we are. We fear for our lives and our loved ones. And one battle we face is sacrifice, which will come at any minute of our lives. Great poem, so true! Awsome Madelin! :) xoxo

Hmmm. Nice ...don't we live in a society filled with deceptions? and that deception consume every human being, everyone goes around wearing a beguiling mask, but underneath is the true self. Very nice poem. Thank you for reminding us.
