Battered Rain

i sit on the steps just awaiting you to
arrive i'm in thought of your pleasure
to cleanse the earth and wash the hell away
it's gloomy it's damp the thunder begans to
roam over my soul it's nature i'm loved

however i see your greed as your wind blows
on homes knocking the dove right out of the tree
it's heaven it's god you chased the sun away
flashes of lightening covers the sky

you showered across town and now you are back
waiting on me to hang out fresh laundry or perhaps
go get a new hair do well i won't i'll just sit here
until you're done with all this mass construction

you call nature oh yes i'll pick up the furniture
and glass and search for the dog after you pass
you are going to pass aren't you
or will you come inside this time

like you did the king's across the street
ripping off thier roof just to take a peek
i'll get an umbrella
