Battered

Time and time again We fall back to where we start And time and time again We pick up the pieces of our heart Broken dreams Trust at stake Lies and misfortune Vulnerability to take The boat does sink The plane goes down The steel will bend Your life flips upside down Tosses and turns The waves will crash Thunder and lightening The wind will bash Worn the limbs Battered the sail This path I'm on I've managed to fail Rising up Then back down again Needle in hand With a heart to mend Battle after battle Loss after loss Why bother to fight Does it matter the cost The storm will come Tormenting at its will Maybe this battered soul will be here Once the storm comes to a still
