Basics

Don't shortchange our furry friends
Don't sluff-off those feathered ones
Have respect for gills flippers
All are very smart

While we search out ways to kill
While we slander our neighbors
Find new ways to dominate
They think of basics

Yes they only think of life -
How to stay alive each day
As said 'they think of basics'
Only kill for food

Search for food is exercise
Eat sleep and eliminate
These are the simple basics
How to stay alive

When man has devastated
Made a ruin of this earth
A few who follow basics
Will somehow survive

if man could do things the way wild life does it, we would be better off. man is not the brightest creature, just because we can think and talk does not make us smart, look around and you will see. this was a great piece you wrote a very good message. thank you for reading my Breaking Hearts and for your comment

Amen! How did I miss this one??? We learned the hard way, after our home and all our possesions burned to the ground a few yrs back, posessions mean nothing, we stive for the less is more, motto - if I could I would live like a monk, with only simple necessities, as it should be. Love Kristin

I have thought of this very thing you write about many times. We will kill ourselves off, and those who strive for the 'Basics' will indeed survive, unless of course, we kill them too. Yikes, we better get it together. Love your writes. Love, Shar

Materialism and all the greed will fall away. Animals don't kill unless they themselves are threatened. When will we ever learn. God Bless. Vince
