Barrier

Clawing her way in
Wounded by attempts
A powerful force confining her to darkness
Hortatory screams reflecting her pain
Fall quickly to the earth
Buried with the others
She surrenders
Head lowered in defeat
Teardrops fade into the hollow
Alone again as darkness holds her
A sliver of moon once so full
Illuminates her fight
She moves
One step...two steps
The hurt inside no match for her determination
She quietly pleads
Open
She continues her search as she has before
As she has, so many times before

Thanks Keith. I had no idea how cathartic poetry could be..both written and read..I must thank all of these poets who are helping to heal wounds I have had for far too long. :)
