Barred Revelations

Brain rewired
The spine of prison rattles
Hearts harden

Hungry dogs
Chomp on the bars and the bones
Of his hope

He is lost
Dreams and fears confirm his tears
Time is gone

Guilty truths
Drizzle down his swollen cheeks
“God, I’m yours. . .

Lift my eyes
For your light is my way to
Shame my foes. . .

My clothes droop
My body slumped against death
This soul swells. . .

I need her. . .
If only you knew how much
I miss her. . .

I need You
For You have stayed here with me
Patiently. . .”

The sun peeks
His sad eyes take in the warmth
His heart melts

We are free
The sky is open to you
Now Stay Strong

Dear Laura What a great work, very expressive and emotionally done, you show a great talent, my fellow souper, and thanks for your review of my Black Beard, it was alot of fun to write about this legend, I love history, and with Halloween coming up I could not resist the challenage Linda gave to me. Can't wait for October and My Halloween festival I've been working on new writes for months, and linda knows my weakness for this haunted month of the year, it's not just for kids anymore, lol cheri

I like the title and what it suggests. I have been very busy, and that kills my motivation. You have to understand that at times I retreat to prison myself. Being free requires quite a bit of effort. At least in prison there's time to reflect. I do and always will have a soft spot for you and this body of work of yours. Remarkable.

Prisons are places that punish us into awakening. This poem is all about the loyalty of love. My heart understands the need in this eloquently righeteous poem Laura...J.A.B. A FAV! P.S. Heart Of Gold from Birdy is very beautiful, your heart fights beautifully.
