Barely

Wandering aimlessly tossing back some brew Eyes burning thoughts of me and you Stumbling dazed lights are going out Grounds coming at me fast no time to cry for help Barely alive but not yet dead Is there anybody out there to lift up my head? My soul is drowning in this corpse I’m in Can you please release it maybe a little more gin Drive the ghosts back into their graves A little more liquor or two is all that it takes The eyes get blurry the speech gets slurry And I stumble along singing a little mo sherry Barely alive but not yet dead Is there anybody out there to lift up my head?

"Is there anybody out there to lift up my head? My soul is drowning in this corpse I’m in" - this was enough to be a marvelous poem by itself, Kelli. The rest is just a wonderful garnish.
